Details:
The St Louis Heritage Centre houses pictures and artefacts
which tell the story of the sisters worldwide. Since the foundation
of the Order in Post-Reformation France in 1842 and their
coming to Ireland in 1859, the Sisters of St. Louis have had
a long involvement in Education and Social work in Ireland
and abroad for close on 150 years.
There are displays of Carrickmacross and Clones
Lace, Belleek China (including some very early pieces), illuminated
calligraphy and hand-worked tapestries done by Sisters.
Also included in the Heritage Centre are colourful
native crafts from the Sisters’ Missions in Nigeria,
Ghana and Brazil and extensive photographic displays.

Tanagh Outdoor Education Centre has a large variety of tasks
that will challenge your group both mentally and physically.
They are designed to promote all aspects of team dynamics
including leadership, communication, planning and motivation.
Tanagh OEC caters for all ages – and visits can range
from a half-day’s activity to a full day, or even week-long
stay (The centre can accommodate up to 50 people)

introduction to the world of a child through poetry. Includes
workshops, quizzes, teachers material and the unique Kavanagh
Treasure Trail.

‘A Sense of Place’ – Using Kavanagh’s
life and his native Inniskeen, students build up a picture

Leaving
Certificate
The focus is on answering poetry questions in the Leaving
Certificate exam and includes a comprehensive lecture, illustrated
by the centre’s own Leaving Certificate Preparatory
Notes.
Your group's
itinerary is worked out with you in advance to ensure your
visit is all you hope it to be. A typical visit takes 2 ½
hours, including breaks and comprises the following modules:

Details:
This unique Wildlife Exhibition centre hosts over 200 mounted
species of Irish Wildlife, which includes birds and mammals.
Of particular interest is an 11,000 year old Giant Irish Elk
head. Birds include the Bittern, Corncrake, Hen Harrier, Brown
and White Magpie to name but a few. The unique collection
from Ballyfin House, Co. Laois, which includes over 150 species
of butterflies and moths, is displayed in a separate building.
Adjacent is a release pen with live buzzards, White Dove,
wild ducks and farmyard ducks. The centre also includes a
garden with panoramic views over 4 counties. Refreshments
and tuck shop available.

With the introduction of 'Local History' onto the Leaving
Certificate history curriculum from September 2004, secondary
schools will be happy to hear that Clogher Historical Society
has amassed a wealth of knowledge on the subject since its
foundation fifty years ago. The Society can provide many back
issues of its annual historical journal, the Clogher Record
and it also runs frequent historical events throughout counties
Monaghan, Fermanagh and Tyrone. If your school would like
